Which games can I play?
To play some of Sumdog’s games, or for spelling, reading and some math questions, you need to be a member.
The other games are free for everyone to play.
While we would love for Sumdog to be free for everyone, we need to cover our running costs. When schools or families subscribe to Sumdog, it helps us make it better.
Information for parents…
Sumdog is more popular than ever, and is growing quickly. However, with so many users, the cost of keeping the free games is also rising.
In order to fund the ongoing investment in improving Sumdog, we’ve reduced the number of free games to six.
We understand that this might be a difficult change and apologise to those affected. However, in the longer term, parents that subscribe will help fund improvements to Sumdog that will help all children.
Why have a family subscription?
When you subscribe to a family membership, it helps us improve Sumdog.
As well as extra games and activities, a Sumdog family subscription gives you access to a range of valuable tools designed to help you find out about your child’s progress and set custom assessments and challenges with bonus rewards. Your child will also gain access to special items in the Sumdog shop. Parents can find out more about family memberships.
Why have you removed some of the games?
As much as we would love to make Sumdog free, as its popularity grows so do its running costs. We want to make Sumdog the best possible platform for all children, parents and teachers and in order to fund this investment, we need families to subscribe to Sumdog. By doing so you will allow us to develop even more tools to support our mission; to close the gap and help all children succeed.
How can I access all of the free games?
Our newer games run on HTML5, a web-based program. HTML5 is usually enabled on the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari. Unfortunately, if you are using Internet Explorer you will need to change browsers as HTML5 is not supported on IE due to its legacy program. Click here for the latest supported browser version.
